Preservation
All steel parts shall be shot-blasted to Swedish Standard Sa 2.5.
Polyurethane Contact Surfaces
- Main foaming area: Special foam adhesive is applied only to the inner lining contact surfaces to ensure strong adhesion with polyurethane at ultra-low temperatures. The outer panel surface uses a normal adhesive primer or foam bond.
- Residual foaming area of Corten parts: Polyamide epoxy primer is applied to the insulation foam contact surface.
Coating Specification
- All Corten steel external surfaces are primed with:
- 30 microns zinc-rich primer
- 40 microns epoxy zinc phosphate primer
- 50 microns acrylic topcoat
- All MGSS parts (roof and side panels) are primed with:
- 40 microns epoxy zinc phosphate primer
- 60 microns acrylic topcoat
- The steel door panel is coated with:
- 40 microns epoxy zinc phosphate primer
- 50 microns polyurethane topcoat
- Undercoating is primed with:
- 30 microns zinc-rich primer
- 40 microns epoxy zinc phosphate primer
- 150 microns Tectyl 121B
- Topcoat colour: White (RAL 9010)
- Paint supplier: KCC / HEMPEL (except shop primer)
Warranty
- 5-year warranty on new 40ft dual redundant deep freezer containers
- Paint guarantee: 5 years, unless otherwise stated in the purchase order, and based on standard RE 3 of the European degree of rusting standards
Normal wear and tear, or corrosion caused by fish oil, animal and vegetable oils, strong solvents, impact, or accident, is excluded.
The paint warranty applies to faults or failures affecting more than 10% of the painted surface, with partial or total repainting carried out at the manufacturer’s expense.
- Decal guarantee: 7 years
Other Guarantees
All containers, except gaskets, sealant, adhesive, special PVC, and insulating foam, are guaranteed by the manufacturer against:
- defects or omissions in construction
- poor workmanship
- defective materials
This warranty applies for 1 year after delivery.
Delamination
Delamination caused by mishandling, mis-securing, misloading, impact, accident, fire, or acid spillage is not covered.
A manufacturing defect is established if:
- The adhesion primer or foam bond between the metal and the foam separates from the metal, leaving primer on the foam
- The adhesion primer or foam bond separates within itself, leaving primer on both the metal and the foam
- The adhesion primer or foam bond separates from the foam, leaving primer on the metal without a foam cell layer on its surface
The warranty applies to delamination where structural integrity is compromised by more than 3 square metres, in accordance with the latest version of IICL (June 2005, page 31), provided that neither the length nor width of the affected area exceeds 1.73 metres.
Materials required to withstand ultra-low temperatures, including gaskets, sealant, adhesive, special PVC, and insulating foam, are not covered by a quality or service-life guarantee from the manufacturer.
